- Main article: Mage
The Mage (also known as the Witch) is a humanoid class in Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness.
The Mage is one of the classes made available from the start.
Mages are almost identical to their counter-parts, the Skulls, albeit that their evilities are more focused on preserving and effectively managing their SP.
Stat-wise, the Mage is very frail, with less HP and SPD, but having higher DEF and SP as a trade-off. This makes the Mage slightly better at taking a physical hit, but having less HP to survive it with.
Both genders have pitiful ATK, making physical weapons ineffective. However, later tiers can eventually accomodate Gun/Bow-toting, despite Staves and Books being this class' strongest weapons.
As stated previously, Evilities are aimed at the preservation of SP, ranging from a 50% decrease in casting costs to using HP as a replacement when SP is drained.
“An innocent magician girl. Can use skills and magic very efficiently.”
—Job Description, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness
“Many girls are born with magical powers. Witches are given special ribbons that help them control their magic. These ribbons also act as transceivers that send information updates directly into their brains. Since Witches can improve their powers without studying, many of them develop carefree personalities.”
—Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness
The Mage has 25% resistance to all elements, but the player must choose one to go up by 50% and in turn another to go down by 50% upon creating her.
|Child-like Mage||Magic Moderation||50% less SP is used for special skills.|
|Hazy Mage||Magic Creation||Recover 10% SP at end of turn.|
|Scheming Mage||Lights of Life||When remaining SP is insufficient, use HP for special skills instead.|
