Deprave

Deprave is a status aliment that is extremely uncommon in RPGS and the effect is extremely unusual. The symbol used to describe is a swirl. The word Deprave is defined as a person being morally corrupt or perverted. The ailment causes the character to be unable to gain EXP when defeating foes. The reasoning behind this effect is hard to figure out. It may be due to the person feeling regretful about what they did. Furthermore, the spells and attacks that cause the Deprave ailment are ones like the Charm Spell or Etna's Sexy Beam attack. The Succubus characters can also gain an Evility in Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice that adds the Deprave effect to their Normal Attacks. This may tie in with the character feeling regretful as the inflicter may have acted flirty and cute towards the inflicted, making the inflicted nor want to hurt their opponent. A similar aliment called Charmed is more common in RPGs but causes a different effect, often making the inflicted automatically attack their friends but not the enemies.

When Disgaea 2 came out, Deprave became noticibly stronger, also cutting the stats of the inflicted by 20 percent. This effect was carried over into Disgaea 3.
