Specialists (or Innocents) are residents of the Item World that are responsible for altering certain aspects of the Items. Specialists can increase the item's statistics, raise the elemental affinities, raise the rate of protection against Ailments, increase experience points, money or mana obtained from enemies and other functions.
As the Disgaea series advanced new Specialists were added giving the player many other options.
