I've noticed some characters from The Seven Deadly Sins appearing in the Disgaea series. I've created a new Crossover Characters category with categories of series in which characters have been introduced in before appearing in the Disgaea series. I also slightly changed the category organization as well. Now the various Disgaea game character categories are put in the recreated Disgaea Characters category.
What's on your mind?

There are noticeable spoilers in the Disgaea 6 episode pages. I suggest that spoiler markers be added, there's a template for it.
The game has a plot twist in that there are more than ten episodes, as there's a second act of the game.
Just Updated
I've changed the theme for the Fandomdesktop skin to incorporate a new background image into the top of the screen. The dark theme has also been changed to not be the default, but rather something of my own customization. I've used the Evil Academy theme for the dark theme and the Poisondise theme (now Holt Village) for the light theme.
I also tried to eliminate the white pixels in the logo that seemed out of place to try and improve the presentation of the wiki.
What do you think of the new theme update? Do you think the Holt Village theme was a bad option for the light theme or the Evil Academy for the light theme? Are the colors good for reading? Any other suggestions?
I was trying to add new photos on his wiki but i think i messed up his page by accident can someone please help me,i'm really sorry since it's my first time editing a wiki
I created a Policy page for the wiki in response to the recent announcement of the Fandom "Wiki Rules and Blocking Policy" at https://community.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:MisterWoodhouse/Introducing_the_Wiki_Rules_and_Blocking_Policy
Our new Policy page appears at https://disgaea.fandom.com/wiki/Disgaea_Wiki:Policy.
I suggest that the community check and inspect the page and see what changes should be made to it. Is this an acceptable foundation for a policy page?
Does anyone know where i can find the animations for stuff? (gif or otherwise) In particular i was wanting the "Ameretat's Bravery" overload skill (its adells).
How do I avoid spoilers for Disgaea 6 as an administrator of the wiki? The Japanese version of the game apparently has been released...
I would like to know any ideas you have on improving the wiki. Is the theme making content unreadable? Are the infobox templates poorly implemented, or need a new theme? Do we need a new format for displaying classes in the Disgaea series? Does there need to be a new rule added to the wiki?
It appears that the existing administrators of the wiki have not been active in the last six to twelve months. We may need new administrators to manage the wiki, or get the existing ones to become active again or at least give other users admin privileges.
Do you think we should allow someone to adopt this wiki using the forum at https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Adoption:Requests to give admin privileges to a new person? Should we get the existing admins, Ken.nihart, Yuanchosaan, and Otherarrow, to give others admin privileges? Or should we just get some of them to become active contributors of the wiki again?
With Disgaea 6 appearing on the horizon, action should be taken now to reinforce standards for the new pages that will inevitably be created due to the release of a brand new game with all new characters, new stages, returning and possibly new classes, and likely new mechanics such as Super Reincarnation. In addition, unlike normal users, administrators can delete pages, protect pages, block users, modify the site theme and navigation bars, and do many more actions as well. As such, having at least one active administrator is a big boost to the management of the wiki. That is why I'm trying to get an administrator available again in the form of existing ones becoming active or establishing other users as administrators.
I suggest you reply to this thread before October 1, 2020. Replying before then will make your response more likely to impact the outcome of this discussion.
So Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny has been announced today, and one of the new features in the game is that it has 3D models for characters. This could break consistency with articles on the wiki, as they used 2D sprite textures for pages. How will we handle this change in character appearance on the wiki?
Hi, I was trying to update the sprite for Taro once I noticed that the image was quite compressed. After pulling up the sprite and editing the .gif to use an uncompressed version of the original sprite, then re-uploading, I realized the wiki had compressed my image, which I assume is because of the .gif extension. With the image still open in my image editor, I saved the same image to my disk as a .png, and it actually is smaller like that (939 bytes PNG vs. 1,322 bytes GIF), even before running it through PNGauntlet. Is there a specific reason for the sprite images being uploaded as .gifs or am I free to re-upload sprites as .png for smaller filesize and (hopefully) better quality?
The Unified Community Platform (UCP) is a new wiki platform running MediaWiki 1.33. All Fandom wikis (including the Disgaea Wiki) and all Gamepedia wikis, which currently run on separate platforms, will eventually live on the UCP and use the same underlying technology.
"Fandom's legacy platform is running a much older and heavily customized version of MediaWiki. All the custom features Fandom added over the years, such as Message Walls, threaded Forums, Chat, Achievements, the Admin Dashboard, Special:WikiActivity and many more, made it nearly impossible for Fandom to update to a newer version of MediaWiki. That meant losing out on lots of improvements and new features developed by the Wikimedia Foundation that come natively with newer MediaWiki versions.
After Fandom and Gamepedia joined forces in 2019, we finally decided that it was time to untangle Fandom's complex and heavily customized platform, remove or replace outdated features and unite all the wikis in our network on a single platform running an up-to-date version of MediaWiki. This will give Fandom users access to newer and better MediaWiki features and Gamepedia users access to features that were previously only available on Fandom. Our development teams will no longer have to maintain two separate platforms, one of which is heavily outdated, and are instead able to focus on building new features for our users."
The UCP migration will change some elements of this wiki. To learn more about UCP, check out Help:Unified_Community_Platform on Community Central.
What do you think of the UCP so far?
How should we apply categories to classes? I want to make it consistent across all class pages.
Should we apply the Humanoid Classes and Monster Classes categories to the main page for each class, the game specific pages for each class, or both?
Should we apply the Disgaea (game number) Classes categories to the main page for each class, or only for the game specific pages for each class, or do it for both?
I want to know your opinion on this.

Has anyone done this? The La Pucelle: Tactics article here is an overview and I imagine mods do not want data for that game cluttering this project. Could not find one in a search. Pucelle.wikia would be interesting. Lots of cool guides like https://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/566126-la-pucelle-tactics/faqs/37307 have data we could adapt there.
Whatever pronect should be linked from this wiki's article and vice versa.
Does anyone know where to find the area map images for the other Disgaea games. We have really nice map images for D1, but nothing for the other games. I've been googling a bit, to see if I can find them, but the only really nice ones I can find, are the D1 images already here on the wiki. So I was wondering where the D1 area maps came from, and if we could find the same for the later games.
It's not problem for me to put in the work to upload all the images. I just don't know where to find them.
Thanks for the help.
Hi all,
I've been experimenting with disgaeamapsinfobox template to see if there is way to make the already great template even better. I had this silly idea that it might be nice to have the information on Etna mode in a another tab. When a stage has an Etna mode counterpart, the infobox can get kind of crowded (example: Valgipus IV.) It's not dramatic, but I think less is more in some cases. And using a tabber for splitting out the Main story and Etna mode, seemed like a good idea.
Anyway, I created the sandbox page and got on with the experimenting. Template:DisgaeaMapInfobox/sandbox
The idea was to have Etna mode on a tabber, but the Etna mode tab should only be visible if and when there is any data to display. I'm not that good with coding so I knew this could take awhile :) But after a while, I started to wonder if this was even possible. It is! I found examples on another wiki but I'm unable to use the coding on our current template. I'm struggling with getting the if-function to work on the tabber and inserting the tabber without messing with the parameters.
This is the site with the examples: http://videogameresource.wikia.com/wiki/User:Sovq
Any help is appreciated. If we could get this to work, we could easily add more hidden tabs, like Dark World, Axel mode,...
Many thanks!
Quick question. On the List of Disgaea maps (page), there are 2 clear sections:
1) Storyline maps: maps mandatory to progress in the story
2) Bonus maps: optional maps
Now, I've been meaning to create the map page for the optional battle against Zetta in the DS version. So I just wanted to check what would be the right course of action. Do I create a new map in the "Bonus maps"-section to... let's say "(Primordial Soup (Bonus stage)" under a new mentioning of Stellar Graveyard in the bonus maps section. Or do I expand the current page "Primordial Soup"? Though I don't know how the page would react to having 2 disgaea-map-info-boxes. Or I could use a tabber, like I did for Demonhall mirror?
I don't know if this scenario occurs in other games. But then I (or other users) can follow the same logic.
Any reaction is appreciated.
So I noticed the wiki has about 500 orphaned pages, and quite a few of those are disambiguation pages. I was wondering what the communities view is on those pages.
For example, the first page in the list is 'Brawler', a tier of the martial artist class. And the only thing the page does, is mention that. Personally, I don't feel the need for pages like that. I'd rather immediately see a list of pages related to my search query, than this kind of page which feels imcomplete.
I already voted one of those pages for deletion, before good sense kicked in and I decided to check here first.
So let me know what you think. If anything can be done, I'll add it to my 'to do' list.
Cheers!
